Author: Rosanne Parry

Summary: Swift is an ordinary wolf cub living with his pack in the mountains when a rival pack attacks them. Swift and his family scatter, and Swift sets out on a harrowing journey through thick forests, barren prairies, gushing rivers, and farmland. The journey is dangerous, and Swift encounters many perils, such as highways, men with guns, coyotes, and wildfires, and suffers from hunger, thirst, and loneliness. Can Swift survive? Will Swift ever find his family?

Review: I liked this book for multiple reasons. First, it felt like the main character, the wolf, seemed like a human, because he thinks to himself, and has feelings. That made the story more interesting and engaging. Lastly, the author described everything detailedly, from the land to the animals, which I could picture in my mind. It made it feel like the story was going on in real life because it was so detailed. I would recommend this book for ages 8 and up.
