Summary: This book is about a shy, sweet, but lonely kid, named Ravani “Rav” Foster, who enjoys building birdhouses, and gets tormented by the town bully, Donnie Carter. One night, Ravani sees a truck enter Slaughterville, and mysteriously, seven children walk out of the truck. Rav makes friends with one of them. But there are hidden secrets in this friendship. And when a hunter comes to take the seven kids away, Rav must overcome his fears to save his friends.
Review: The book was suspenseful, but was also really sentimental. I loved this book because of the excitement of hiding secrets and making friends. This book also makes me feel a little sad, when the main character gets bullied. Some parts are sad, but there’s also hope, and the ending is satisfying and happy. I think this book is for ages 9 and up. There is a mature topic in it and I wouldn't recommend this book for little kids, older kids should be able to handle it. This book is about friendship and making the right choices.
